2007 Other Reds Wines from Wineries List: B
Bright colour; slightly earthy bouquet with dark cherry fruit; fleshy and generous with some cinnamon spice and juicy fruit on the finish.
100% Nebbiolo in its subvarieties of Michet, Lampia, and Rosé. The vineyards of Nebbiolo for Barolo are cultivated in very restricted areas of the Langhe hills where the soil is particularly precious. The main towns include Barolo, Serralunga d’Alba, Castiglione Falleto, Monforte d’Alba and La Morra. Wine Profile: Deep ruby-garnet red. Ethereal and intense, with notes of spices and dried fruits offering great finesse to the nose and palate. Full-bodied austere wine with velvet elegance. Food: Best served at 18-20 C. Ideal for accompanying white or red meats, meats with sauces and medium to mature cheeses. Please note: **Sold as is - no refunds or returns accepted**
The 2007 Grande Reserve Naoussa Boutari begins with a really enticing, delightful aroma of ripe blackberry, leather, cinnamon, vanilla and spice. Just a wonderful bouquet. The wine tastes smooth and succulent with mild but firm tannins and has great balance between fruit and oak. It gets even better as it has time to breathe. The delicious juicy fruit turns tart on the medium-long, dry finish and leaves you with some lingering olive notes. This is an extremely drinkable wine with great intensity of flavor. The wine is made from the Xinomavro grape, a variety indigenous to Northern Greece and pretty much exclusively grown there.
Deep red color with dark violet shades. Aromas of chocolate, stewed red fruits and figs, Ripe and round grape tannins. Full bodied wine that vigorously fills the mouth and exhibits all the off beat personality of this grape variety. Decant at least 1/2 hour prior to drinking.
The team at Roda are not merely dedicated, they are detail-obsessed. Perhaps the most impressive (mahogany-scented) winery I've set foot in; everything is about the production and retention of grape quality - the modern approach to wine through viticulture is nowhere given more commitment. All of the fruit is off vineyards in excess of 30 years (some up to 80 years old), grown organically. Fermentation in foudre, and aged in French barrels, with a minimum of oxidative handling, and neither filtered nor fined. Significantly, each vintage is made "on its merits" - work levels, style, etc are responses to vintage realities - not applications of a recipe. All blue-black and sooo beautif...

Bright and dark purple in colour this medium bodied red carries lush dark fruits with hints of balsamic and dried spices. Solidly structured, it is both generous and lifted and will age gracefully for at least another 5 years. Please note: **Sold as is - no refunds or returns accepted**
A medium bodied colour but with lovely vibrant purple hues. Lifted red berry Cabernet Sauvignon and cedar/tobacco fruit aromas. Background sweet oak adds to the arresting bouquet. The higher than usual Shiraz component adds body and richness to the palate and pepper/spice flavours. Food - Rich seafoods, pasta and light meat dishes.
Earthy style of wine with hints of cherries on the nose and good acid backbone to the palate.
Smooth, polished, and vibrant, this rather refined malbec presents a deeply fruited, meaty and elegant expression of dark plums and berries coupled by fresh cedary chocolate/ vanilla oak. It's quite floral and heady, with a genuine perfume of lifted fruit before a long, layered palate of juicy dark fruit backed by meaty, earthy undertones and a fine, powdery spine of dusty tannin. Long and bright, it finishes with lively acidity.
Macebo is the most planted white grape in northern Spain and is used in cava (Spanish bubbly) in some parts of the country. 'Seleccion Joven' is the youthful blend. I enjoyed it for its clean, fresh, savoury characters and refreshing, dry natural acidity. Different - but that's why we love it
This is a huge seller for Brown Brothers and it fills a niche that they' ve carved out for themselves. Good on them, I say. I have often found it way too sweet but this vintage appears to have better acidity and so I don't find it cloying. It has wild berry aromas, a touch of spritz, sweet redcurrant and fresh grape juice flavours and a pleasant sweet finish. Still for the sweet teeth among us.
Typical vivid colour; has the inherent limitations of chambourcin, but 12 months in barrel and appropriate winery adjustments have helped its cause considerably.
A wine of such intrigue and contemplative interest doesn't often pass by at this price. Lifted exotic spice of star anise, vanilla and game leads into a finely textured palate of dark berry fruits, liquorice and savoury, gamey complexity.
A savoury bouquet of bramble and dark cherry; the palate is juicy on entry, and tightens up with savoury tannin and an earthy character that works well with the fruit.
Lovely fresh, juicy aromas - smells of tomato leaf. Freshness obvious on the tannic palate, with rounded, fruit-cake flavours. 5+
A good example of the variety, with bright red fruits contrasting with a savoury/spicy edge, fine tannins unifying the parts.
Ripe plummy fruit, with a slightly rustic mouthfeel, line not as seamless as usual. Golden Grove.
Bright colour; fresh fruit plus some tannin structure to help protect the wine; admirable; Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon.
