2008 Wineries List: R Sauvignon Blanc and Blends Wines

2008 Rymill Sauvignon Blanc

The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc has a recognisable tropical nose, enhanced by subtle hints of fresh herbs and jasmine. These complex notes carry through to the palate, where they are balanced by good natural acidity and a fulfilling texture. The wine demonstrates excellent persistence, with a rounded, crisp finish revealing touches of lemon and fresh strawberry. The distinctive and attractive natural fruit characters of Sauvignon Blanc, Coonawarra’s outstanding white variety, have been retained in this piquant, unoaked, herbaceous wine.

Lifted tropical punch nose and nice tropical flavours that linger long after the wine has gone.

Restrained and fine, with citrus and some gun flint; creamy texture, with vibrant acidity and lingering tropical fruit on the finish.

The Long Paddock Sauvignon Blanc 2008 is pale straw and vibrant green in colour. It delivers aromas of cut grass and classical Sauvignon Blanc passionfruit and guava coupled with spice and gooseberry. Passionfruit and gooseberry on the palate, with spice and zingy citrus acid balance, the wine has great mid palate weight. Finishes with spice and tropical fruits.

Powerful lemongrass/floral nose and tart lemon palate with crisp acid finish. Very classy number!

Lifted, complex fume style - "that's all good", according to one judge. Honeyed toasty characters dominate, with the tight citrus/tropical fruit complementing.

This nose is an interesting combination of lemon sherbet and musky aromatics. Fresh, crisp and zesty palate.

Super fresh and built on sweet aromatics, this has passionfruit, guava, some gooseberry and mango; there's a grassy side there too. The palate has decent weight and some textural richness, plenty of passionfruit and gooseberry flavour, finishing fresh.

Gentle, lemony style with soft acid. Some almond notes to the nose and gooseberries on the palate.

Spotlessly clean aromas, then a palate with a sunburst of tropical fruits with splashes of passionfruit and gooseberry; good acidity on the long finish

Attractive style with lifted gooseberry, asparagus and nettle-like aromas and lively fruit palate with plenty of zing!

Very powerful, developed bouquet and soft, rounded palate with flavour across the length.

Plenty of grassy, nettly aroma here, still looking really fresh and concentrated, with some tropical notes also in the mix. The palate has a smooth texture and a supple, even-handed shape, delivering a twist of citrus through the finish- Nice concentration.

Has an array of herb, grass, apple and mineral flavours, with moderate intensity and length.

Light to mid straw in colour with a touch of green. The delicate nose shows tropical fruit combined with gooseberry and passionfruit. The palate is richly structured and shows good regional character of fine fruit flavours combined with fine acidity.

Quite a developing, forward and fast-maturing wine with hints of grassiness, toast and minerals beneath its intense aromas of melon, gooseberry and lemon blossom. Slightly cooked and advanced, with a toasty passionfruit-like presence, it finishes with neither great length nor freshness.

Sophisticated wine! Lovely integration of sweaty, ripe fruit, oak, barrel ferment and acid. Very good length.

Grassy capsicum aromas, with more depth/ripeness on the palate; has length
