2003 Nepenthe The Fugue Cabernet Blend

Powerful and extracted but ageing and tiring, this meaty and rather vegetal cabernet blend just lacks the density and ripeness to counter its slightly raw astringency. Backed by cedar/chocolate oak and suggestions of capsicum, there's some plum and blackberry fruit, but it finishes slightly short, with an edgy, metallic aspect.

2004 Nepenthe Pinnacle The Good Doctor Pinot Noir

Abundant style with pinot purity, depth, body, texture and complexity.
