Established in 1998 and located in Mendoza, Argentina, Argento celebrates everything Argentinian from the grape varietals proven in the country right through to the cow hide labels and capsules that adorn some of the bottles. They source fruit from three vineyards in Mendoza situated at altitude in the Eastern Region, Central Region and the Uco Valley.

The Region

Languishing in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, Mendoza has a distinct climate. It experiences 300 days of sunshine per year with cold nights and is naturally irrigated by melting glacial waters from the Andes. The vineyards do not have to deal with disease pressure, so fungicides and pesticides are rarely used. It is interesting to note that 80% of Argentina’s wines are produced out of Mendoza.

The Wines

Winemakers Silvia Corti and Nick Goldschmidt fashion wines from varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Torrontes and Malbec. They strive to find the best balance between the various terroirs and varietal expression to produce intriguing wines with complexity.
