The Devitt family first purchased the land that would become Ashbrook Estate in 1975 after being drawn to its slopes, streams and deep, loamy soils. The first vines were planted in 1976 with the first commercial vintage occurring in 1979. Ashbrook is truly a family affair with Tony and Brian Devitt taking detailed care of the winemaking duties.

Wine Styles

The wines are of a consistently high quality with styles ranging from fresh, fruity wines produced from Riesling, Semillon and Verdelho, through to seriously crafted Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blends that see fermentation and maturation in quality French oak.

The Vineyards

There is no expense or effort spared in the vineyard. The 17 hectares of vines are partly ‘lyre’ trellised to encourage maximum flavour potential in the maritime climate, and all fruit is hand-picked. The Devitt family also uses sustainable vineyard techniques to maintain vine health.
