On the banks of Carapooee Creek in the Pyrenees Ranges of Victoria, George Berry established a vineyard and orchard back in 1862.

Roger Milner, formerly of Hardys, purchased the property in 1975 and together with winemaker Jane Holt, planted new vines and re-established the winery as Berrys Bridge in the mid 1980s.

Before 1997 all the fruit had been sold but in that year Jane crafted the first vintage of Berry’s Bridge wine. Since that time the Shiraz from Berrys Bridge has been consistently good with the Cabernet Sauvignon also worthy of note in the best vintages.

Berrys Bridge Wines Philosophy

The Berry Bridge vision is ‘to make the best red wines possible in natures vineyard.’ Milner, Holt and the team pride themselves on creating finely-crafted wines from estate-grown hand-picked fruit with wines made on-site.

Berrys Bridge Wines Vineyard

Blessed with clay rich, red soils, Berrys Bridge experiences dry summers and generally good rainfall throughout winter and spring, the result being vibrantly coloured fruit with intense flavour resulting from warm summer days and cool nights.

Berrys Bridge Wine Types

Berrys Bridge offers limited production of Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot wine varieties.

Berrys Bridge Wines Feature Wines

Dense, inky colour foretells the full-bodied palate; masses of black fruits run through the palate, alcohol fractionally stripping the fruit on the back-palate.

Dense, deep colour; dark black fruits with a strongly savoury backdrop; licorice, too, makes its mark on the full-bodied palate.
