Named after the watercourses that braid together to form Marlborough’s longest river, the Wairau, Braided River specialises in Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. They also like to give you ideas on ‘replenishing your soul’, such as finding the joy in things and being a little bit naughty! But once you have done that, you can get on with the business of enjoying a glass of wine.
The Braided River winemaking team believes in expressing the environmental elements of the Marlborough region, along with the personality of winemaker Matthew Mitchell. He aims to produce wines that not only show the deep flavours of the grape varietal, but also textural interest and structure. The resulting wines range from zippy, citrusy Sauvignon Blancs through to red fruited, supple and approachable Pinot Noir.
