Cable Station is a relatively new winery located in Marlborough, New Zealand. The name comes from a communication cable that was laid across Cook Strait linking the North and South Island's of New Zealand in 1938. The Cable Station vineyard is just inland from the coast where the cable terminated. The Knot featured on the label is a symbol of joining the two islands. The wines produced here are the best example of what the region does well, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Cable Station Location
The Cable Station Vineyard can be found in a picturesque valley on the South Eastern coastline of Marlborough. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has been the success story of the last decade and Cable Station specialise in this and Pinot Noir, producing some 5,000 cases annually.
Cable Station Wine Styles
Most of the wines that Cable station produce are exported to Australia and the US where consumers can’t get enough of the distinctive Kiwi styles that have become a marketing sensation.
Cable Station Wine Brands
Cable station is one brand with two wine styles sold under the label.
