Taking his winemaking inspiration from his Italian grandfather growing up in Calabria Sergio has emerged from a garage winemaker into an internationally acclaimed wine contractor.

Sergio is of the belief that better tasting, balanced wine is the result of environmentally responsible viticulture and winemaking. He is forever committed to finding new ways to improve the quality of his wines optimizing their fruit flavours naturally.
Carlei Estate Wine Types
The Carlei brand encompasses three ranges: Carlei Estate, Carlei Green Vineyards and Carlei Signature Blends.
Carlei grape varieties include: Pinot Gris from the Cardinia Ranges, Yarra Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Heathcote Shiraz and Central Victorian Cabernet Sauvignon.

All Carlei vineyards follow a strict regime: appropriate varietal site selection, dry grown where possible, very low cropping and natural additions with low chemical inputs.
