One of the success stories of the Southern Highlands, Cuttaway Hill was the vision of the O’Neil Family who established this acclaimed winery in the south of NSW. Their catch cry is that 'Good wine is made in the winery but great wine is made in the vineyard'. The winery aims to make wines that express the terroir and climate of the region through a diverse set of wines.
Cuttaway Hill Location
All wines made at Cuttaway Hill are made from grapes grown in the Southern Highlands, outside the townships of Mittagong and Bowral. The Vineyards reside at 650m on the slopes of Mt Gibraltar and are north facing providing necessary sunlight during daylight hours.
Cuttaway Hill Wine Styles
The range of wines at Cuttaway Hill are a mix of classic varieties, that exude a cool climate complexity and respond well to the regional conditions. These include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Cabernet Merlot and Merlot.
Cuttaway Hill Wine Brands
The Cuttaway Hill label is known as the “Seven Daughters” in honour of the seven daughters of the current fifth generation of the O’Neil family. This is the core brand with all releases packaged under this name.
Cuttaway Hill Winery
Winemaking focus is on allowing the wines to tell their own story and be as true to the vineyards as possible. Old World techniques are employed in the winery to produce hand-crafted wines that possess intense, varietal flavours.
