Delatite Winemaking and Philosphy
Delatite specialises in multi award winning cool climate wine styles born of a very special vineyard terroir. They are particularly renowned for stunning aromatic whites including riesling, pinot gris and gewürztraminer. Delatite Dead Man's Hill Gewurztraminer is one of Australia’s most consistently fine examples of the variety.Pinot noir, shiraz, tempranillo and nebbiolo are also worthy of note.
As a family who have been custodians of the land since the late nineteenth century, the Ritchiesare committed to sustainable agricultural practices and winemaking integrity. Delatite have followed biodynamic vineyard practices based on Rudolf Steiner’s teachings since 2002.They have been rewarded with immeasurable benefits, including better grape structure, flavour and excellent wine quality. All the Delatite fruit is harvested by hand from vines up to 40 years of age. Natural winemaking allows the true flavours of the vineyard to be revealed.
