Domaine Chandon Location and History

Domaine Chandon is set in the verdant hills of Victoria’s Yarra Valley. The sizeable estate was established by French champagne house Moët et Chandon in 1986. When Moët & Chandon purchased the Green Point property, the original homestead, built around 1880, was renovated and a purpose built winery located next door. The architecture is a marriage of modern architecture with traditional features of Champenoise tradition. Domaine Chandon is amongst Australia’s leading producers of sparkling wines and continues a long tradition under the ownership of luxury goods giant, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy.

Domaine Chandon Wine Making and Styles

Domaine Chandon is dedicated to creating high quality Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wine and premium cool climate styles. The house brings together the expertise of French technique and Australian terroir. Chandon draws on the strengths of Australia’s finest cool climate wine regions, blending across vineyards and varietals. The traditional Champagne varieties of chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier are the buildng blocks of Chandon sparkling wines. The dedicated winemaking team invest great time and patienceto produce an elegant, market leading style.Chandon’s sparkling range includes rich and complex vintage wines, exuberant non vintage blends and seductive rosés. Chandon ZD (zero dosage) is made in a dry, aperitif style and was the first Australian sparkling wine released under crown seal. Chandon is also home to the Green Point range of premium still wines.They are crafted with varietal character and finesse that reflect the cool climate of the Yarra Valley.
