Gibson Wines
Gibson wines is a small, family owned winery nestled in Light Pass at the high northern end of South Australia’s Barossa Valley. Owned by Rob and Anne Gibson, the estate produces approximately 5,000 cases of wine per year, chiefly from estate grown fruit. Traditional Barossa Valley shiraz is the main grape variety, alongside smaller parcels of merlot, mourvedre, grenache, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and viognier.
Gibon Wine Making
Gibson wines is forging a reputation for reliable, richly flavoured and complex wine. Winemaker Rob Gibson can lay claim to 23 years experience with prestigious Penfolds wines and an intimate understanding of the winemaking process. The wines crafted at his small Barossa Vale estate are a reflection of widely accumulated knowledge, experience and natural curiosity. Gibson’s Old Vine Collection project takes Rob to the earliest corners of Australia’s wine growing regions. His self imposed task is to identify, document and vinify grapes from the remnants of original plantings in each of our major districts.
