Hope Estate Winery

Michael Hope is a pharmacist turned wine man who established his Hunter Valley wine business with vineyard purchases in 1994. Since then he has established a Hunter Valley winery while acquiring Virgin Hills winery (Victoria) and Donnybrook vineyard (WA) distributed out of his Hunter Valley facilities. All fruit is estate grown.

Hope Estate Location

In the heart of the lower Hunter Valley in the major wine region township of Pokolbin, Hope Estate is a prominent winery which features annual concerts, a restaurant and sky jumping location. Hope Estate transformed the old Rothbury winery into the modern incarnation and successful tourist destination it is today.

Hope Estate Wine Types

Hunter Valley wines include single varietal Verdelho, Semillon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Merlot. A late harvest Verdelho is produced, as is a sparkling made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. From Victoria comes a Shiraz Malbec and a Cabernet Sauvignon; from Western Australia ubiquitous white and red blends.

Hope Estate is the core brand but Virgin Hills from Victoria is distributed by Hope.
