Huntington Estate Location and History
Established in 1969, Huntington Estate is one of the oldest Vineyards and Wineries in the Mudgee Valley. Over the years, the Huntington name has become synonymous with high quality wine made from carefully tended estate vineyards. Huntington Estate was established by young Sydney lawyer, Bob Roberts. Roberts was part of the infamous ‘Bulletin Place’ crowd including James Halliday and the late Len Evans who were to transform the Australian wine industry. He adored classic French reds and decided Mudgee presented the ideal climate to produce his favoured wine styles. He set out on an egalitarian mission to make some of Australia's best wines at affordable prices. Over the years, Huntington Estate has grown and achieved a loyal following. Roberts’ daughter Susie joined him in 1993, helping take the wines to a new level. Longtime friend and neighbor, journalist Tim Stevens took over winemaking in 1996 and purchased ownership in 2005.
Huntington Estate Philosophy and Wine Making
Bob Roberts held the view that great wines could really only be tested with time in the cellar. The philosophy endures today as Tim Stevens has remained true to the Huntington Estate style. Having won numerous local and national trophies, he is determined to ensure the long ageing style endures. “I am a firm believer that the true test of wine is age - Huntington Estate's red wines in particular have proven their worth for nearly 40 years,” he says. “It is a great challenge to keep the tradition and improve on it.”

Similar bright colour to the Bin 18, but the aromas and flavours are very different, with plush dark plum, spicy fruit, and layers of flavour.
