Jacob's Creek Any Sauvignon Blanc and Blends Wines

2010 Jacob's Creek Reserve Sauvignon Blanc

Adelaide Hills born and bred, this grassy, citrussy driven savvy has lots of flavour (which is pretty typical of the JC Reserve range actually) to go around.

Clean, crisp and minerally; correct varietal flavours, but very light.

Clean and highly aromatic; exceptionally rich and tropical, yet not heavy. Adelaide Hills/Limestone Coast 50/50.

Colour: Attractive, pale straw green. Bouquet: Pungent aroma's of blackcurrant pastille, tropical fruits, and subtle citrus nuances. Palate: Rich and ripe flavours of passionfruit, sweet guava and grapefruit meld perfectly with a very soft and refreshing acidity on the finish.

Colour: Mid straw with green hues. Vibrant. Bouquet: Intense tropical and grapefruit with underlying hints of pea-pod, passionfruit and gooseberry. Palate: Rich, ripe flavours with layers of tropical fruit. Great complexity and length, finishing with a seductive softness. Food suggestion: Serve chilled. An ideal accompaniment to nicoise tuna salad or pan-fried haloumi with a salad of Cos lettuce, orange and mustard vinaigrette.

This sound, reliable wine achieves varietal tropical fruit, crisp acidity and lively fruit pastille flavour that holds in the bottle.

Nose like Fruit Tingles or sherbet lollies. More of the same on the palate, with green lime flavours.

A well-made rendition of this classic, proven region and variety combination, the core premise for wine made under this label. There s plenty of tropical fruits, melon and passionfruit, some citrus here too, nicely captured. The palate has bright, crunchy appeal, lovely tropical fruit flavours roll smoothly through, crisp and fresh.

Uncomplicated, fresh and juicy, this fruit-driven sauvignon blanc presents lively flavours of gooseberries, lychees and passionfruit backed by dusty herbal notes and a hint of capsicum. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it's smooth and elegant, finishing with true persistence and refreshingly bright acidity.

The first 11 to hit my tasting bench, with such fresh lemon, lime and passionfruit that it seems it's just come out of the vat, which it probably has. Not much length, but at $7 on the street, who's counting?

Colour: Pale straw with green hues. Vibrant. Bouquet: Tropical notes of guava and lychee with a background of grapefruit and passionfruit Palate: Light and delicate with a tight acidity which finishes with a lingering minerality.

Colour: Very Pale straw with green tints. Bouquet: Attractive tropical fruit notes are the highlight of the wine, a subtle backdrop of fresh grapefruit and lemongrass adds further interest to the bouquet. Palate: Lively fruit flavours of passion fruit and citrus prevail across the palate which is enhanced with a fresh natural acidity which provides vibrancy and length on the finish.
