Geoff Hardy’s planting of vines is the first significant one in the Kuitpo region hence earning the nickname ‘K1’ which features as the name of the winery. The winery is family owned and run, with Hardy’s immediate family filling positions from cellar door through to winemaking responsibilities. Hardy is a descendant from the Hardy’s who were so influential in McLaren Vale.
K1 Location
The Kuitpo vineyard is located on the southwest escarpment of the Mount Lofty Ranges at a height of approximately 350m above seas level. The location falls under the Adelaide Hills GI umbrella.
K1 Wine Types
A broad selection of grape varieties is produced for K1 by Geoff Hardy wines including Shiraz, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Viognier, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Arneis.
