Katherine Hills is sourced from South Australia, the heart of the Australian wine industry with a rich wine heritage dating back to the arrival of its first grapevines in 1836. South Australia boasts world-class wine regions with a remarkable diversity of wine styles and character. The Mediterranean climate with warm/hot summers and cold, wet winters produce full-flavoured, fruit-driven wines with great structure and persistence of flavour.
Katherine Hills is produced at Step Rd winery, situated in the beautiful Langhorne Creek region of South Australia, only 70kms from Adelaide. The 5,000 tonne winery was built with uncompromising wine quality and environmental protection in mind. Designed for efficiency whilst at the forefront in conservation and water utilisation, yet aimed at small batch production and a hand-crafted approach. Grapes are selected from vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and the Riverland.
