Kingston Estate is an Aussie wine brand that has seemingly been around forever. Established in 1979 and based in the Riverland region, Kingston Estate was founded by the Moularadellis family – Greek immigrants who still own it today. However, it didn’t get going commercially until 1985 when son Bill gained his oenology degree. Since then, it has grown to be a large family venture producing around 300,000 cases per year using fruit from every South Australian region you can think of, and every grape varietal.
The fruit is sourced from Kingston Estate’s own 200-hectares of vines, as well as selected growers around the state that have been supplying them for years. Bill Moularadellis fashions wines using the latest winemaking techniques under two labels – Kingston Estate and Kingston Echelon - that are varietal, fruit-driven and available at prices that will not have you breaking open your piggy bank. They vary stylistically from aromatic, easy drinking Chardonnay to the slightly more serious plummy, rich Echelon Shiraz.

Kingston Estate are canny when it comes to quality. They own a vast network of vineyards which allows them to pick and choose which parcels of fruit go where. Take this Chardonnay for instance, it’s got fruit from the limestone coast and the Adela...
