Dr Max Lake and his family planted the single site to Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Shiraz, Merlot and Chardonnay with a view to creating only two premium wines in limited quantity. The winery and vineyards were purchased by Peter Fogarty, who continues the premium operation and ideals, with the assistance of winemaker Rodney Kemp.
