It's really quite a fleshy beast is this Shiraz. A fleshy beast with spicy edges and a meaty heart that is rich yet also rather savoury and dry too. Hello steak wine!
2004 will long be known as the forgotten great vintage - an even, cool and quite classic year that produced full flavoured wines yet with more acidity than expected. Net result is wines that more sprightly, will live longer and have a better balan...
From a very cool vintage this is still embryonic really - a savoury, spicy Shiraz in a Syrah-esque mould of earthiness and pepper, everything backed by that wonderful dark plumminess of ripe fruit. Nice wine.
