Mount Horrocks was founded in 1982 and purchased by current owner Stephanie Toole in the mid 1990s. Under Toole’s guidance the winery has continued its premium reputation and expanded its influence in the region as a winery of note.
Mount Horrocks Location
Spanning three Clare Valley vineyard sites, Mount Horrocks produces wines from its 10 hectares of land. Using natural farming and sustainable practices, the vineyards service the winery and cellar door located in Auburn in what was the old Auburn Railway station.
Mount Horrocks Wine Styles
Riesling is hero at Mount Horrocks though Semillon has also had its share of attention. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are also noteworthy, but the icon wine is the Cordon Cut Riesling, one of Australia’s benchmark desert wines.
Mount Horrocks Brands
Mount Horrocks is the core brand.
Mount Horrocks Winery
The winery process ensures that hands rather than machines feature with only high grade French oak used. Small production and an adherence to timely but precise procedures ensure the quality of the fruit, and the final wines.
