Picardy Winery

Picardy is owned and operated by Bill, Sandra, Dan and Jodie Pannell. Bill originated from a winemaking family and pioneered the Margaret River region when he established Moss Wood vineyard and winery in 1969.

The philosophy that great wines are made in the vineyard runs deep for the Picardy family winery. All wines under the Picardy label are made entirely from dry grown, hand picked fruit on the single vineyard property. Picardy was named after a region to the east of Paris. A wine merchant and family friend noted that many of the world’s great wines and wine regions have names beginning with the letter "P". Pomerol, Petrus, Pauillac and Pommard are examples. Picardy strives to continue the European tradition of winemaking quality and excellence.

Picardy is one of Australia's leading boutique wine producers. Established in 1993, it is a family owned and operated estate, with three generations of the Pannell family still residing on the property today.

Picardy is located in the Pemberton region of Western Australia. It is a pristine environment and management practices at the estate are geared towards preserving the natural advantages.

Picardy Wine Styles & Labels

Picardy wines reflect the distinctive Pemberton characteristics of flavour and refinement. Wines show powerful structure and intense varietal character. Wines are eminently drinkable in their youth, but will cellar well for many years. Picardy reds are particularly noted for their vibrant colour and fine grained tannins. The pinot noir is highly regarded and chardonnay is produced in a refined style in keeping with the great wines of Burgundy. The Tete de Cuvee is Picardy’s flagship pinot noir and reflects the best of each successive vintage.
