Primo Location & History
Primo Grilli first arrived in Australia from Italy’s Le Marche region. He brought with him a vision of growing Italian grape varieties in the sun soaked new land. He recognised the grape growing potential of South Australia’s warm summers and cooling maritime influence that were similar to his homeland. Primo planted the family's first vineyard, at Virginia in 1973. Primo Estate has now grown to include vineyards in Clarendon and McLaren Vale.
Primo's eldest son, Joseph, studied Oenology at South Australia's legendary Roseworthy College. Joe graduated dux of his class in 1978 and began as winemaker in 1979. Joe Grilli sought to create revolutionary wines from his very first vintage at the young age of just 20 years. Joe now runs Primo Estate with his wife, Dina.

Now, this is a sparkling red right out of the box! it's a multi-vintage shiraz, cab sav and merlot blend that has old Australian fortifieds added to it. The outcome is a sumptuous, cuddly style of sparkling that shows dense black fruits and mocha ...
Here is a wine that doesn't want to baffle you or make you think too much, but what it does want to do is be a fresh and fruity drink. There's bucket loads of berry fruits on the nose and palate, and it has no harsh tannins, no twangy acidity, and...
