Punter’s Corner was conceived in 1988 by David Muir and Robert Hance with the purchase of sixteen hectares of vineyard. The operation has considerably expanded in recent years, with three additional vineyard sites being added to the portfolio.

Punter’s Corner wines is located between Coonawarra and Penola townships in the heart of the Coonawarra wine region of South Australia. There are several vineyard sites under the Punter’s Corner crown and renowned accommodation ‘Punter’s Corner Retreat’ is also a landmark in the Coonawarra region.
Punters Corner Wine Styles
Punters Corner produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay and makes a red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. Punter’s Corner produces reserve wines in outstanding years, include ‘Spartacus’ Reserve Shiraz and ‘Sovereign’ Reserve Cabernet.

The modern winery is labelled ‘innovative’ and run by well known winemaker Peter Bissell in conjunction with Balnaves winery. Pete Balnaves manages the vineyards, seeking exacting standard of viticulture before winemaking occurs. Wine making techniques are modern and utilise cutting edge technology.
