The Redman family have lived and worked in Coonawarra since the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the Redmans remain true to early traditions of grape growing and winemaking that have built their name. Brothers Malcolm and Bruce now work alongside fourth generation son, Daniel to continue the family custom of making wines that are a true reflection of the Coonawarra.
Redman Location & History
The Redman family have been an integral part of Coonawarra for over 100 years. Bill Redman arrived in Coonawarra in 1901, working at the RIddoch winery before buying his own 40 acre vineyard plot in 1908. Since then, the Redman family have helped shape the district through four successive winemaking generations.
Redman Wines is located in the heart of South Australia’s Coonawarra wine region. The district is renowned as the home of Australia's finest Cabernet Sauvignon. Its secret lies in the magical terroir, a marriage of rich red terra rossa soil over limestone, pure underground water and one of the longest cool ripening seasons in the world.
