Seppelt Great Western is the birthplace of Australia’s unique sparkling shiraz style. The deeply coloured, purple wine shows spicy plum and fruitcake tones. Seppelt winery contains a labyrinth of underground tunnels where sparkling wines have been aged in bottle since 1868.

Seppelt Location & History
Seppelt’s Great Western winery is located in the Grampians region of Victoria. Seppelt has forged a reputation of innovation and quality over 150 years of dedicated winemaking. It is recognised as one of Australia’s most historic and iconic wine estates.
The foundations of Seppelts were laid in 1856 with the forming of a partnership between Jean Pierre Trouette, Anne Marie Blampied and her brother, Emile. Together, they established the historic St. Peters vineyard in 1863 and by 1867, the estate had grown to 50,000 vines. The winery was purchased by Benno Seppelt is 1918 and put Great Western on the map with magnificent sparkling and exceptional table wines.
