St. Huberts estate is a famous and historic Victorian wine property. It is believed to be one of the best vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley. Winemaker, Greg Jarratt drives a strong and simple philosophy geared towards maximizing quality potential in the vineyard. It includes labour intensive viticultural techniques like hand pruning and VSP trellising. St. Huberts continues to produce excellent varietal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay styles for which the region is known. The vineyard is also widely acknowledged as producing some of Yarra Valley’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon.
St Hubert's Location & History
St. Huberts Vineyard is situated on gently sloping land in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. It was established by Hubert de Castella in 1862 and named in a tribute to his patron saint. The site was replanted by Tom Cester who acquired the vineyard in 1966 and produced the first commercial vintage in 1974. The wines from St. Huberts vineyard still bear the emblem of the stag with the cross between its antlers.
