Situated on the top of a hill 20kms outside of Bathurst, Stockman's Ridge sits at some 900m above sea level on some hilly, prime viticultural land. The estate is a diversified one with a significant cherry orchard and cattle grazing also on the property.
Stockmans Ridge Vineyard
The Stockmans Ridge vineyard was first planted in 2004, principally to Shiraz but followed by more varieties on some highly specialised trellising. The Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Savignin, for example utilise low trellising and close planting to maximise results, whilst the Tempranillo are low bush vines at a very close, 1m by 1m planting ratio.
Stockmans Ridge Wine Types
Stockmans Ridge have a rather eclectic wine range, with the varieties grown including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Savignin and Tempranillo. This is supplemented with fruit from the greater Orange region for the Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Zinfandel.
