Taylors Location & History
Taylors is situated in the heart of South Australia’s beautiful Clare Valley wine region. The historic, family owned estate was established by Bill Taylor in 1969 with the purchase of 178 ha of vine. The former Sydney wine merchant was inspired by a long held fascination for wine, particularly claret styles. Taylors original vineyard was thus carefully selected for its rich terra rossa soil, to provide ideal conditions for cabernet sauvignon. The first estate grown and bottled range of wines was released under the Taylors name in 1973. The company’s vineyard holdings have grown to over 750 ha today. Taylors wines continue to attract international recognition and accolades for outstanding quality.
