The Teusner philosophy is to produce exceptional quality, affordable wines from great old vine vineyards in the Barossa. These vineyards reliably produce concentrated, complex and balanced fruit, which is guided through the winemaking process with minimal intervention. High quality grapes are sourced very selectively from local growers, family and friends. Kym Tuesner is passionate about the traditional grenache, shiraz and mourvedre varieties Barossa does so well. He draws inspiration from longstanding local traditions and Rhone Valley styles.
Teusner Location & History
Teusner Wines is located in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa Valley wine country. Teusner Wines was born in 2001 when young gun, Kym Teusner scratched together enough cash to rescue a gnarly old, low yielding grenache vineyard in the hallowed northern districts of Barossa. The first release of Teusner’s Joshua GSM was 165 cases in 2002. It was followed by Avatar 24 months later and rewarded with high critical acclaim and a dedicated following.
