Say ‘hola!’ to one of Spain’s best known wineries, Torres. Founded in 1870, today the tentacles of Torres reach far and wide on a global scale. It is the largest owner of vineyards in the Penedes region and is Spain’s largest producer of DO (Denomination of Origin) wines exporting to over 140 countries. Torres is still family owned with fourth generation family member, Miguel A. Torres, in charge.
During the past 25 years, Torres has extended their wine business not only within the Catalonian wine region of Penedes, but they also have interests in Chile and California.
Wine Styles
Torres do not pin their colours on Spanish native varietals alone. They tend to make more wines using international varietals such as Gewurztraminer, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine styles range from fresh and fruit-driven crowd pleasers at very affordable prices through to more serious propositions, like the Mas La Plana Cabernet Sauvignon.
