Established in 1895, Tulloch Wines is one of the Hunter Valleys oldest and most prestigious wine companies and is considered a founding producer of the winemaking history of the region. The winery is still located in its Pokolbin site, continuing to produce wines of Hunter Valley specific style and flavour profile.
Tulloch Wines Location
Tulloch Wines occupies a prime position in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine growing region, based in Pokolbin in the lower Hunter area. Fruit is sourced from vineyards close to the original property in the Pokolbin sub-region.
Tulloch Wine Styles
Traditional champions of the Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz are of primary importance in the wine styles. However other noble varieties including Verdelho, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are also used to create wines for the Tulloch range.
Tulloch Brands
Tulloch is the core brand.
Tulloch Winery
Traditional winemaking technique is championed by Tulloch wines but modern innovation isn’t shunned. Clean winemaking comes from modern practices while an adherence to less intervention in the winery allows for more natural expression of fruit characters.

Medium to light yellow/straw colour. Apricot aromas, fruity and plain. Palate is the same: light and simple, broad and fruit-driven and slightly fat. Modest length. OK at a price.
Deepish red/purple colour. Subdued but balanced aromas. The palate is shrill and edgy with astringent, grippy tannins and acidity, unbalanced and really fruit deficient. Very harsh, drying tannins dominate the palate.
