Sometimes you just want reliability in a red, a wine that does not ask too much of you, but gives back in spades, Enter the Old Well Shiraz, a wine that is reliable and delicious but won’t freak out your budget. Crank up the hotplate and get those gourmet sausages sizzling as this Shiraz complements food brilliantly. It’s vivid with berries and spice before a well-balanced palate that’s long and flavoursome on the finish.
This wine from the cult WA winemaker Brad Wehr is testament to the fact that Rosé is a natural fit for the Australian way. Proof that pink is perky, the nose is lifted with pear and raspberry and a whiff of redcurrants before a palate that’s creamy and full of berry refreshment. It’s complexed by spices such as cardamom and cinnamon before a long, dry finish. Drink this at your next picnic or your next al fresco gathering with a heap of seafood or even with spicy food like Indian or Lebanese.
Margaret River plus Chardonnay equals wine of the gods especially from the cool 2008 vintage. Packed with sweet fruit flavour with a little oak, this is a seriously drinkable Chardonnay sure to get all your friends talking.

Here’s some wise winemaking from the west that shows the Margaret River at its best with a burst of sunshine in every bottle. It’s bulging with flavour and character in the citrus and melon spectrum showing a palate of grapefruit and nectarine before perfectly rounded acids fill out the finish. Drink chilled with some smoked salmon on sourdough for maximum effect.
I do have a little soft spot for Verdelho – sure it aint Chardonnay with its creamy oak nor a zesty Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc but for a good easy drinking white wine you just can’t go past Verdelho. This one tastes a lot like fruit salad in an elegant and very drinkable package. A Fish and Chip special.
Rose comes in all shapes and sizes and the Cabernet Roses are certainly some of the most interesting. Elegant, refined and cheekily easy to drink, this is a tasty drop from Margaret River showing all the region's class and style.
The blend shows the typical characteristics of these varieties of blackcurrant, fragrant raspberries, dark plums, chocolate, and savoury spices. On the palate these soft and sweet berry fruit flavours are enhanced by a velvety mouthfeel and a soft tannin structure. The wine finishes with lingering chocolate, mocha and cherry flavours.
This medium-bodied Merlot has been produced using premium grapes from the Margaret River region. The wine exhibits classic Merlot aromas of dark plums, herbs and chocolate. On the palate, notes of bay leaves, vanilla and mocha are complemented by a soft round texture, finishing with fine velvety tannins. This wine can be enjoyed now, or with cellaring will mature for 3 to 4 years.

The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon is one of the classic Margaret River wine styles. Colour: Deep magenta red with a crimson hue. Aroma: Intense ripe raspberry characters with smoky oak and white pepper. Palate: Rich, intense palate of concentrated raspberry, plum and dark berry fruit characters. White pepper notes is evident and is nicely balanced with the charry, smoky oak flavours. The finish is long with touches of very fine tannin.
We could tell you about the skill and artistry that goes into the winemaking at West cape Howe, how the soil imparts, great flavour or how the climate helps ripen berries to their full potential. But we know you just want to ask, “should I buy this wine?” The answer is a resounding yes, because like so many Cabernet Merlot blends from W.A. it’s laden with flavour and just a joy to drink. You’ll find licorice, vibrant berries and a little oak with a soft, long-lasting finish. It’s a wine that keeps on giving in the flavour department.
Only West Cape Howe have the know Howe to create wines of real distinction from the Great Southern region in W.A. One of the most southerly points, it’s located 250 metres above the Southern Ocean meaning cool breezes caress the grapes to ripeness. The cool climate is expressed by lifted aromatics of ripe raspberry and pepper all of which appear on the palate before a long finish of dusty tannins. A perfect drink to enjoy with a selection of matured cheeses.

Palate: The palate is surprisingly smooth, luscious and mouthfilling, the passionfruit follows on from nose and tropical fruits offer complexity. A well-balanced wine with a crisp and refreshing finish, ideally suited to a range of cuisines … or on its own.

It’s lifted with floral and violet aromas before delivering a mouthful of berries, strawberries and cream texture and a crisp finish.
Colour: Pale lemon yellow, brilliant clarity. Aroma: Highly aromatic style of wine showing bright citrus fruits, green herbal and subtle tropical notes. Palate: Bright flavoursome palate combining the ripe textural elements of Semillon with lighter refreshing Sauvignon Blanc characters. Stone fruit flavours, citrus notes and refreshing acidity combine to give the wine a clean moreish finish.
