Wild Duck Creek uses traditional winemaking methods such as open fermenters, basket pressing and long term maturation in oak. The prime objective of this renowned winery is to produce outstanding wines of balance and power that give the consumer as much satisfaction and delight as they receive in making the wines. The passion is for boldly flavoured, fruit driven wines that can be consumed young or cellared for many years. Wild Duck Creek’s vineyards are in the process of Biodynamic conversion.
Wild Duck Creek produces five annual wines and six rare wines. Rare Wines are very special wines made in tiny volumes, only in exceptional vintages. They offer something unique to the consumer and wine lover. They are individual wines with concentrated and powerful flavours that ingnite the senses and spark the imagination. Annual Wines are produced year in and year out. They are the backbone of the winery and offer outstanding quality. Annual wines have big flavours and provide excellent value for money. They can be enjoyed while young and fresh or cellared for many years.
Wild Duck Creek Estate Location & History
Wild Duck Creek Estate is a small family run winery. It is situated south west of the Heathcote Township along the Wild Duck Creek. Owners David and Diana Anderson planted their first vineyard in 1979. Wild Duck Creek sky rocketed to international fame when renowned wine critic, Robert Parker awarded a score of 99 points to the Duck Muck Shiraz. The small estate has enjoyed a cult following ever since.
