Very different to the Sangiovese Shiraz, of course; here, dark plum, licorice and firm tannins drive a long, well-balanced palate, the tempranillo holding sway. Good value

An entirely new take, with early picked grenache/mourvedre crushed onto the pressed, but not fermented, skins of Alicante Bouchet; a bridge between rose and light dry red, distinctly spicy and crisp, and works very well.

This is a drilling down to the far extreme, only leaving individual bottle selection; there does seem to be a little more substance to the fruit, even a hint of darker berry flavours. Very intimidating wines to point. Bottle 615 of 750.

Ripe red fruits on entry are immediately challenged by tannins, but there is enough to connect the two parts; best with food.

Light, bright hue; distinctly savoury, the mourvedre making a major statement, though there is a skein of bright red juicy fruit running throughout.
