Deep, bright purple/red colour. Fairly lean, light to medium-weight wine with some juicy fruit in the mid-palate and a slim, slightly pinched finish with some tannin firmness. There's a slight wateriness to the mid-palate. Hot and grippy.

Good colour, especially for the vintage, and it heralds a medium-bodied wine with good depth and a complex array of red and black fruits framed by French oak and ripe tannins. Not many in South Eastern Australia did as well at this price level.
