Wise is amongst the most popular wineries in the region, located at the northern end of the Margaret River 'strip' near Donnybrook. The story here is a simple one, of classic methods and classic varieties.
Wise Wine Vineyards Location and History
Ron and Sandra Wise established Wise winery in 1991, with the vineyard itself now spreading over some 60 hectares, lying in a sweeping valley of panoramic ocean views. Still family owned, the Wise wines are made by Imogen Dillon and Jake Bacchus, under the direction and tutelage of WA man about town Larry Cherubino.
The first vines were actually planted in 1986, prior to establishment of the winery, with plantings mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Semillon. Since then the estate has grown with fruit drawn from within Margaret River as well as from Pemberton, and Mount Barker.
There are several main ranges in the Wise range, starting from the friendly Se Urchin and Bead sparkling labels, moving up to the more serious varietal Leaf and Lot 80 wines and then to the top tier Eagle Bay single vineyard wines, which are drawn from the oldest plantings on the property.

There is a reason why the Margaret River continues to soar with examples of aromatic white blends that offer immense value and flavour. Here’s a wise choice that we think is all about warm weather refreshment. Thankfully unlike the title it’s not ...
If it’s Margaret River and its Cabernet Merlot you can pretty much guarantee it’s going to be soft and flavoursome, and the Wise Wine Sea Urchin is a case in point. Happily we can report that no sea urchins made it into the final blend but it’s mo...
