Based in the gorgeous Margaret River region of Western Australia, Woodside Valley is the creation of a group led by business man and wine lover Peter Woods. Founded in 1998, they were inspired by the voyages of French explorers and scientists who came to Australia. They set out on a voyage of discovery themselves with the purpose being the search for true Margaret River fruit expression. In honour of those early French explorers, Woodside named their wine collection after them.

The Vineyards

Woodside Valley broke with tradition when planting their 19 hectares of vines in 1998. Instead of planting them on a north-facing aspect, they planted them south-facing. Now established with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, the vines produce around 1500 cases of wine per year.

The Wines

Winemaker Kevin McKay focuses on attention to detail and building intrigue into his wines. He combines the best of new wine technology with traditional winemaking methods to get the best results from the fruit. Style wise, the wines range from peaches and cream Chardonnay through to cassis and mocha Cabernet Sauvignon.
