Set in a background of epic natural beauty, the elevated vineyards of Eden Valley stretch along the Barossa Ranges through Moculta, Keyneton, High Eden and Springton. The rugged high country is strewn with giant gums and great craggy rocks heaving up through the earth. Eden Valley is celebrated for long-lived riesling and elegant shiraz. Vibrant fruit, dazzling florals and underlying minerality are characteristic of Eden Valley wines. Highly prized riesling shows fragrant linden blossom and limes, acquiring toasty quince and honeysuckle flavours with age. Peppery sage lift and fine, mouth-watering tannins are hallmarks of Eden Valley shiraz. They are graceful and captivating wines laden with red berries and spice.
The Eden is home to some of Australia’s most revered vineyards, including Henschke Hill of Grace and Pewsey Vale. Planted along the rolling hills, each site is a unique pocket of microclimate. Diverse soils range through rocky clay and sandy loams over gravel flecked with ironstone and quartz. Altitudes of 380-629 metres above sea level mean temperatures are relatively cool and the ripening season is long and slow. Herein lies the magic of natural balance in Eden Valley wine.
