White - Chenin Blanc

Chenin blanc is native to the Loire Valley in France, where it produces the famous wines of Vouvray. It is also widely planted in South Africa, where it is known as Steen. The grape has found a home particularly in the regions of Western and Southern Australia.

A late ripening variety, it retains high natural acidity and makes elegant, long-lived wines. Delicate apple, quince and floral characters are typical of chenin blanc. The most common styles are usually crisp, dry and fresh, but sweet honeyed expressions and sparkling wines can also be found here.
