Cracka Rating
Pale straw with green hues. An intensely fragrant nose punctuated with frangipani, white rose petal and citrus blossom florals, lime zest, mineral notes and a hint of green peppercorn. The palate shows concentrated pure sweet lime flavours; beautifully balanced with crisp acidity and minerality for a long, focused finish.
Straw-green; lemon competes on equal ground with lime on the blossom-filled bouquet and brightly framed palate, slatey/minerally acidity balancing all that has gone before. A long future in store.

Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition
Substantial complexity with spring water, rose floral, honey suckle, fresh lime zest and varietal white tree fruit aromas. Mouth filling concentration with fresh long complex flavours offering white fruits, floral top notes, subtle talc and minerality and the youthful layered finish speaks of years of effortless aging to come. The acidity is not forced in this wine and the fruit has a lovely natural generosity.

One forgets, sometimes, just how good Henschke's trio of Riesling releases is. Then a wine like this, pristine, pure, citrus-meets-slatey, concentrated and so finely wrought, comes along and reinforces their excellence. A vivid, very fine example.

Australia's Wine Business Magazine February
2012 represents an outstanding vintage for Julius. Stephen Henschke suggests that in ten years time it will look much like the 2002 does now. There's no question it will go down among the longest-lived under this label yet, thanks to a crystalline shard of lime juice that penetrates its core. High acidity defines a razor-sharp line of high voltage energy, elevating its lime blossom perfume and defining a finely poised finish of chalky minerality.

2012 looks set to go down among the longest-lived vintages for Julius yet, thanks to a shard of crystalline lime juice acidity that penetrates its core. Finely poised chalky minerality lingers long.

Wine 100 Reviews, April
A very compete, stylish riesling of tremendous shape and elegance. Deeply perfumed, it's scented with white flowers, lavender, lime juice, pear and green apple skin backed by chalky nuances of spice and lemon rind. Long, gentle and tightly focused around a dusty undercarriage, its piercing flavours of citrus and fresh apple finish with clarity and brightness, with a racy cut of limey acid.

Lovely finesse is evident here. Reserved and savoury, quite minerally and stony at first, it makes a play into citrus territory. The palate has similar resolve, with bright, tangy acid crunch and a lingering acid tang that holds it long and on course. Should age nicely.
