2008 Strait Jacket Shiraz
12 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka ReviewThe first vintage of Straight Jacket Shiraz, from 2007, came and went quicker than lightning. So we got on the phone and begged our friends in Margaret River to send over some more. Which brings us to the brilliant 2008 Margaret River vintage – actually we like it more than 2007 here at Cracka – and its’ tasty Shiraz. Not as big and bold as the likes of McLaren Vale – rather it is a bit more subtle with layers of spicy, mulberry flavoured goodness. And just like the 2007, we reckon it will be gone in a flash!
Winemaker's NoteA rich ruby red in colour with great density. Aromas of ripe plums and blackberries are complemented by underlying five-spice and subtle oak. A full bodied mid palate is driven by concentrated fruit flavours and a savoury texture which complements many foods. Soft, fine tannins and extended plum and chocolate characters give the Strait Jacket Shiraz a great lingering finish.
