Wirra Wirra Awards and Accolades
I’ve always been fond of this snappy little white blend from Wirra Wirra. Keeps the punters happy and puts a smile on my face. Sometimes you can have it all. The Savy is the first thing to hit you aromatically. A brisk slap of slightly under-ripe passionfruit, grass and herbs. The palate is where it really comes through though. Those tropical notes are echoed, with pine lime stretching its legs on the Semillon dominant finish. Viognier adds some palate weight, spice and mouth-filling pleasure in the form of peach and apricots, lifting this above the heights of another sprightly white quaffer.

2011 Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise Shiraz Cabernet Petit Verdot
6 x 750ml Bottles
Winemaker's NoteAppearance: Brilliant deep crimson hue with vibrant purple edge.
Nose: Lifted violet and leafy notes with fresh raspberry, cherry and blackberry fruits. Subtle cedary oak and spice adding a further layer of interest.
Palate: Bright and juicy; filled with raspberry, plum and blackberry fruits. The palate is fleshy and is supported by mouth-watering acidity and soft fruit tannins resulting in a wine with persistent flavour and depth.
Food: Wagyu steak sandwich with cornichons.
Wirra Wirra Awards and AccoladesThe petit verdot adds some floral characters to the dark berry and cherry cabernet and shiraz , with just a splash of toasty oak in the mix and fine tannins on the finish. It's a good match with almost any red meats, or beef or lamb-based gourmet sausages. 90/100 Mike Frost, Courier Mail
