2010 Elgo Estate Allira Sauvignon Blanc

12 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
This is sourced from the cool Strathbogie ranges - an oft forgotten part of regional Victoria known for its granitic soils and dramatic landscapes. Here it has produced a grassy, dry yet quite tropical Sauvignon Blanc that shows quite a deal of fruit richness supported by crisp natural acidity.

Winemaker's Note
Light straw in colour with a green tinge, this wine has a complex bouquet exhibiting citrus notes such as lemon peel and fresh lime encompassed by green apples and grassy herbaceous notes. It also exhibits the distinctive passionfruit and pineapple characters that are associated with Sauvignon Blanc.

The palate features flavours of citrus fruits, lime / lemon peel, cut grass and guava with a distinctive complexity of herbaceousness followed by a lovely crisp, long and lively finish.

This is a versatile wine that can be enjoyed with good food or simply as a nice refreshing drink. It would go equally well with any seafood dish or something with a little spice in it.

Medium term cellaring potential. Serve chilled.
