1999 Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz

6 x 750ml Bottles
Winemaker's Note
This exquisite dark crimson wine was made from grapes grown exclusively on our own vineyards and shows the typical hallmarks of Fox Creek's flagship wine. The aromas are of intense layers of spice, blackberry and licorice together with creamy vanillan oak. The palate shows superb depth and length of fruit flavours supported by a firm tannin structure. This wine should age well for many years.

Please note: Image of 2004 vintage. 1999 has cork closure. **Sold as is - no refunds or returns accepted**
Other Reviews
An initially impressive wine: dense purple colour, massively proportioned and powerful in aroma and flavour. In 10 years it could well make a good drink, but right now it's far too oaky, tannic, thick and heavy. Texture is syrupy and oak and tannin create an astringency that at two years of age is unpleasant. Cellar, then serve with hard cheeses.

Good Australian Wine Guide 2001/2002
Strong red-purple; the bouquet offers an abundance of sweet, ripe berry fruit, the palate ultra-typical of McLaren Vale: rich, with lots of chunky dark chocolate fruit in a big, thick frame.
