2005 Umamu Estate Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

RRP: $22.00
2 x 750ml Bottles
Winemaker's Note
Colour: - A clear vibrant pale straw.

Nose: - Intense, some herbaceous and green fruit notes. Honey bottle age characters, nice development which is typical of semillon.

Palate: - The mouth feel is full and soft. Front mid back palate, good intensity. Semillon contributes texture, a little toastiness, stone fruit characters and showing benefits of short-term ageing while the Sauvignon Blanc exudes perfumes of exotic fruits. The wine has a crisp acid backbone with a fruity and textural finish. Oak is a submissive partner but gives definite backbone to the wine.

Mouth watering citrus dominated palate with traces of nectarines, fig and honey melon fruit gently supported by vanillin and toasty oak notes.
Other Reviews
Some light oak infusion has softened the fruit line to make an attractive, early-drinking style.

2010 Sheer Drop Wines Chardonnay

RRP: $22.00
2 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
We really didn't expect this to be so sprightly - Bendigo Chardonnay, from a little known producer, should be rich and chunky and heavy, no? Not this one, which is rather light and nicely balanced, all light fruit freshness and some welcome nutty leesy characters. Something of a win in context really.
Cracka Wine Rating
Winemaker's Note
A fresh wine exhibiting aromas of nectarine and tropical fruits. Flavours of ripe peach and yeasty lees are supported by a rich and textured mid-palate, balanced by a fresh citrus finish.

2008 Sheer Drop Wines Merlot

RRP: $24.00
2 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
Sheer Drop are located in Bendigo, a region perhaps better known for its gold mining (and banking, it is the home of Bendigo bank after all). It's a nice connotation with this rich Merlot actually, drawn from the warm 2008 vintage and glowing with plush plummy fruit. A Merlot with guts!

Winemaker's Note
This full bodied merlot shows bright, ruby purple colour with generous aromas of blackcurrent, spicy plum and toasty new oak. A finely structured wine of considerable length.

2008 Sheer Drop Wines Cabernet Sauvignon

RRP: $24.00
2 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
Bendigo is normally all about Shiraz. Shiraz Shiraz Shiraz. Everywhere Shiraz. Yet the rich red dirt of Bendigo's vineyards is also a pretty handy place to make full bodied Cabernet as this chunky red attests too. It's hardly a beast but it does have plenty of dark chocolate flavours.

Winemaker's Note
This rich cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits true varietal characters and distinctive aromas of mulberry and vanillin new oak. The palate shows generous fruit and a concentrated finish.

2009 Sheer Drop Wines Pinot Grigio

RRP: $22.00
2 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
The secret to Pinot Grigio is about clean flavours and texture, both of which this Sheer Drop ticks off. Perhaps a little one dimensional perhaps but a crisp 'no thought required' white wine.
Cracka Wine Rating
Winemaker's Note
Brilliant straw-yellow colour and vinous, lightly fruity aromas typical of the style: a clean and textured wine with flavours of almonds, a creamy mid palate and a fresh zippy finish.

2010 Sheer Drop Wines Shiraz

2 x 750ml Bottles
Winemaker's Note
A fragrant cool climate shiraz, medium bodied with ripe red and black berry fruit flavours and definite hints of crack pepper. The palate is supported by generous oak and a fine tannin structure.
