2009 Terramore Cabernet Sauvignon

12 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review

Terramore wines is a fairly new wine label brought to life by Phil and Mandy Gartner, third generation wine growers with an intimate knowledge of Coonawarra. They have put that knowledge to excellent use and made the leap into winemaking with aplomb. This Cabernet is imbued with all the characters you look for in Coonawarra Cabernet; cassis, blackcurrant and earthy aromas before a rich and lingering palate of dark fruits and rich tannins. If ever there was a reason to get a leg of lamb and haul it into the oven, this is it.

Winemaker's Note
The 2009 Terramore Cabernet Sauvignon is the first release of our exciting new wine brand and is a classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. It shows intense cassis and blackberrie fruit flavours with a full flavored rich palate with fine long tannins and is dark Red in colour. The wine has been matured in fine grain French oak.

Serving Suggestion: This wine is well suited to slow roasted lamb shanks in rich red wine gravy. Also would go great with Rosemary encrusted lamb back straps with crunchy Kipfler Potatoes.

Other Reviews
Good hue, although not particularly deep; the bouquet has a good regional/varietal thumbprint; the palate opens with bright cassis fruit, but has to contend with the impact of French oak and frisky tannins. Needs time to settle down. WAK.

Australian Wine Companion 2013
Aromas of green beans and old oak with a big but balanced palate - quite hot, with excellent varietal flavour intensity.
