2005 Karatta 12 Mile Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet

12 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
Sourced from beautiful Robe (where, as that Telstra ad suggested, robes are not the local specialty) the glory of this wine is all about what an extra year of bottle age can do, rounding out the firmer bits softening out the middle, ultimately making for a quite rich if rather dry red that is rather lamb friendly.

Winemaker's Note
Appearance: Dense and vibrant deep red with purple hues.

Nose: Highly perfumed full of dark, black fruits - plum, blueberry and dark cherry and hints of spicy pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Palate: Across the palate, ripe blueberry and dark cherry fruit flavours stylishly combine with chocolate and olive flavours. Texturally silky, fine and tight tannins seamlessly coalesce with seasoned older oak, providing impressive structural definition.
Other Reviews
Lots of leafy fruit throughout, with a touch of licorice and a sprinkling of pepper. Evolving nicely.
Strong colour; much more richness and depth than many previous red wines from Robe, except Black Wattle Vineyard; luscious plum, blackberry and raspberry fruit; ripe tannins, low price.
