2011 Cirro Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

12 x 750ml Bottles
Cracka Review
Love this new style of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc made to be more restrained that the usual full throttle styles. Elegant passionfruit, citrus and apple fruit with a palate that is lively and mouth-wateringly fresh. Tasty.
Cracka Wine Rating
Winemaker's Note
The long way of describing this wine is that it has intense but fresh gooseberry and nettle aromas, a well-weighted passion fruit palate and a vibrant citrus finish. But we prefer saying it tastes a bit like cloud 9, only much much higher.

Cirro Awards and Accolades

'Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues and a pale rim, the nose is very fine, tightly bound and elegant, with lifted esters and aromatic gooseberry fruit along with passionfruit nuances. Dry to taste and light weighted, the palate shows restrained but fresh flavours of English gooseberries, passionfruit with a floral lift. There is a soft richness, and the acidity is balanced and refreshing. Smooth, slippery textures lead to a subtle, passionfruity finish. Marlborough fruit from an established site in the lower Wairau Valley, fermented to 13.4% alc and 1.8 g/L rs. Serve with seafood and subtle Asian cuisine over the next 2 years.' 16.5+/20 Raymond Chan
